Parabens are commonly used synthetic preservatives found in most skincare, bath, hair and baby products. Preservatives are needed in products that contain water, to help prohibit the growth of mould, bacteria and fungi.

There is a range of contradictory information regarding the use of parabens and other chemical ingredients used in commercial skin care.

At the same time, natural alternatives summon the same amount of contradictory information.

The natural ingredients often used instead of synthetic preservatives have not been tested sufficiently, are not approved for use in the EU and have not even be proven to be effective against bacteria, mould and fungi.

Mould, fungi and bacteria can cause serious irritation and infection. It is important to protect products that have a water content, such as body lotions and creams.

Commercial skin care creams and lotions and even some natural and organic products are formulated with a high percentage of water (and other cheap fillers).

Not only is Maia Skin Care paraben-free, but our products contain no water or fillers. The range is made with only 100% pure natural ingredients full of powerful antioxidants, nutrients, vitamins, omega oils and regenerative essential oils. The benefit of being so potent and concentrated is that you only need to buy small sizes that last ages!
